Championing Underestimated Founders in Climate, Health, Education, and the Future of Work

Diversity X Opportunity EIS Fund is an innovative pre-seed to seed-stage VC firm focused on supporting underestimated founders tackling real-world issues in climate, health, education, and the future of work. We selected these four sectors because they address the urgent need to solve the climate crisis, cater to a growing global population expected to reach close to 10 billion by 2050 and democratise health and education while providing tools for an educated, healthy workforce to shape the future of work. This article delves into the rationale behind our investment focus as we strive to create meaningful change in these critical areas.

Confronting the Climate Crisis

The climate crisis demands immediate action! This was the message in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2018 report, which states that global temperatures are likely to rise by 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2040¹. Each year since, the IPCC’s warnings have grown starker, and the call to action greater. Diversity X recognises the importance of investing in underestimated founders working on innovative climate tech solutions. By championing these visionaries, we contribute to a sustainable future while fostering diversity and inclusion in the sector.

Democratizing Health and Education Amidst Population Growth

The global population is projected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050, presenting significant challenges in providing accessible healthcare and education². Diversity X is dedicated to investing in opportunities that develop or utilise cutting-edge technologies to revolutionise health tech and edtech. Our investments aim to bridge the gaps in access, affordability, and quality, ultimately nurturing a healthier, more educated global society.

Enabling the Future of Work

What do you get when you avoid the climate crisis and support a significantly increased global population with improved access to health and education? Answer: an opportunity to redefine the future of work. The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates that by 2030, 470 million jobs will be needed for new entrants into the labour market³. At Diversity X, we believe in empowering underestimated founders who are developing innovative tools and platforms for people to work efficiently, collaborate remotely, and thrive in an evolving world. By investing in the future of work tech, we aspire to shape a diverse and dynamic workforce that maximizes human potential.
